Jett Black Victorian Coat
Edward Gorey had a reputed affinity for fur coats (apparently he owned many), but we can just as easily see one of his characters wearing this beautiful black wool beauty. Cut from a high quality, thin wool with no lining, double breasted with eight fabric covered buttons, and beautifully trimmed with cord details at the cuffs and a scalloped design of black velvet and cord at the neck. Still classic over a hundred years after it's construction, this one's a keeper...
Unlabeled, fits like a modern M
16" across shoulders
Excellent vintage condition considering the age, there are a few spots near the hem where the wool is becoming threadbare, but only visible upon close inspection
Model is 5'7" and 30-26-31.
