"Going to Charm School can have a transformative effect on a woman – after selecting one of proprietress Shari Gerstenberger's handpicked vintage pieces, the lady in question will emerge confident, inspired, and sweetly caught up in a romantic daydream. Everything is just so achingly pretty, so easily imagined lit up with yellow light from the street lamps, half shadowed and remade by a soft Texas night. Feminine, bohemian, a little sassy, and a lot special, Charm School is the girl's girl of vintage." -Austin Chronicle Best of 2011 issue, Critic's Pick for Best Recycled and Refined
"This isn’t just your average vintage store. Stepping inside Charm School Vintage is like a trip down a rabbit hole of delightful treasures and unique finds spilling out of every corner. Owner Shari Gerstenberger has a sharp eye for thrifted fashion that’s produced an eclectic selection of affordable clothing, accessories and art. Even the labels add just the right amount of quirk with fun descriptions, like “gypsy rose skirt”. Handmade dreamcatchers on display (made by Shari herself) add to a certain ethereal quality about the place. Floating from one gem to the next, you get the sense that you’ve stepped inside her dream world, emanating art and beauty." - Almanacofstyle.com
"Stepping into Charm School Vintage, it's hard not to feel at home [...] proprietor Shari Gerstenberger greets each new customer as she would an old friend. It's clear from her warm, vibrant energy that Gerstenberger loves what she does. And the racks of carefully hand-picked, quality vintage pieces from crocheted vests and thick southwestern-style sweaters to sequined shifts and paisley maxi skirts stand as evidence that she also happens to be very good at what she does." - The Austin American Statesman
